This thought has been on my heart for quite a while - Falling in love with Jesus! We've been preaching a series on 'Charity' from I Corinthians 13 and the fact that charity is the end of the commandment has still gripped my heart. Supreme love for God is the end all, be all purpose of God's word!
I want to encourage our church to make this fall season that is upon us to be more about falling in love with our Saviour than anything else. We will never go wrong loving our Saviour more today than we did yesterday. Push yourself to love Jesus more than you thought possible. Push yourself to leave behind the follies of sin and self in order to love Jesus more. Anything can be accomplished for God if we love Him with all of our hearts. It matters not what the outcome may be - what matters is that we are at ONE with our Saviour in our hearts! My dear beloved in Christ Jesus - fall in love with Jesus again - over and over. Stop falling for the lies of Satan and his worldly wisdom. Stop falling for the lies of the flesh that opposes the Spirit of God. Stop falling for that spirit of anti-Christ that fills the world all around us. Walk in God's Spirit - walk in love - walk in truth! Fall in love with Jesus again - or maybe for the first time! It is with much anticipation and expectation that we have begun this new year of our Lord! My desire through this page is to keep more closely connected with the great people of the Amazing Grace Baptist Church. I really believe I could meet together with you wonderful people daily as in the days of the book of Acts. I am ever desiring to strengthen and edify the flock of God over which He has made me the overseer. My prayer and plan is to use this page daily to give something fresh from the living Word of God to the people of our congregation - to help us draw near to God daily. I am aware of the busy schedules to which we are bound, but I will make this available to read daily for all those who would be willing.
Today I want to draw your attention to the book of I Peter chapter 4 verse 10. "As every man hath received the gift, even so minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God." Brethren, we have been made stewards of the grace of God! A steward is a manager. A steward is a person who has been given something ("the gift") with the expressed purpose of using it - and using it properly ("good stewards"). Any and every gift we have received from God is because of His grace. It began with salvation and it continues for all eternity with the gift of the Holy Spirit. I realize we are to be fishing for men - winning souls. Let us never forget, however, that this verse is calling upon us to minister to one another also! Learn your church members' names. Make it a point to pray for them. I believe this is the best way to minister this grace one to another. The more we unite in prayer for each other, the closer we will be drawn to God as a tightly knit body! Grace to all of you as we daily draw near! |
